I like the results of the Goolge Alert:

“Social Media”, News

This Alert produces a large number of diverse social media news items every day. Its fundamental value is that it provides me with an overview about what is going on in the industry. The articles can run the gamut from financial news such as “Does Social Media Hold Value for Retail Investors?”, to entertainment news, “Lady Gaga Looks to Revolutionize Social Media Marketing for Celebrities”, to how to use social media to help plan your wedding. “Weddings and Social Media: How Social is Too Social”. One of the important things that this source provides is an introduction to new tools and/or companies. For example:  “Socialbakers Launches YouTube Analytics; Helps Companies Optimize Social Media Presence, Increases Engagement Rates Across All Three Major Social Networks” or “Tools to manage Hundreds of Social Media Accounts”.

What are your favourite sources for social media news? What Google alerts do you follow?
